New Technologies for Peace and Development

Social media and big data have, along with other new technologies, enabled new approaches to long-standing problems related to conflict, instability and poverty. This special collection assembles research exploring and assessing the application of these new technologies to contemporary security and development challenges.
This collection builds off of the volume on "New Technology and the Prevention of Violence and Conflict" edited by Francesco Mancini and Marie O'Reilly of the International Peace Institute (IPI). It is edited by Stability's editors with valuable contributions from IPI and other institutions actively engaged with the study and development of new technologies. Olivia Russell, Editorial Coordinator at Stability, shepherded the collection since its inception.
